Yoga and relationships

The promise of yoga is to unite your finite self with the Infinite Self. There’s no better way to practice that journey than to practice yoga with a partner. Sexuality and spirituality are not mutually exclusive. In fact, the ancient yogis understood that a worshipful attitude towards your partner created a neuro-chemical change in the brain that allowed for the experience of ecstasy and bliss. So finding a partner to apply the merging of one into another and seeing the ‘Divine’ in each other is the highest yoga one can do.

What's happening here? Is everyone on Facebook now? No time to connect with perhaps a person like you? I moved so have delayed connecting here but want to know who is off to Winter Solstice and anyone interested in meeting up there?

Sat nam, Sohan Kaur. Much love, peace, and blessings to you. Yes. We are indeed talking about the neutral space in Sat Nam Rasayan. As a Sat Nam Practictioner I begin by opening "the space" that was dilineated and handed down to all of us as I understand it by Guru Ram Das and enter that place within of perfect peace and inner neutrality. At that point I and the Divine become one entity and the polarities of the male/female are perfectly blended and healing takes places and I hold the space solid and enter into shunyia. I disappear, the patient disappear, and the Divine takes over and heals. I act only as a channel for the divine. It is such a state of bliss! It is just as Yogi Bajhan said so well, if I cannot see God in all, I cannot see God at all!

Sat Nam.
Thanks for your kind comments: George and Sat Akal Kaur.
So we are talking about what is called in Sat Nam Rasayan the neutral space, ¿right? In this neutral space the healing process takes place, you are one in ONE. To merge with other as one soul in two bodies as Yogi Ji said, is part of a process to achieve neutrality from the equilibrium of polarities and there is Divinity. In the Aquarian Age this is one of the main issues in relationships, as far I understand.

Seeing God in all of you,
Sohan Kaur

Sat Nam Sohan Singh,
As a gay male, I believe it is very important to honor the male and female aspect in all of us. As a practioner of Sat Nam Rasayan I believe that my ability to respect both the female and male energies allows me to be a better and more compassionate healer. I always look at every individual and see their beautiful soul essence and and celebrate their identity and realize that they have a blending of both the masculine and feminine within each of them.

If I may free flow on what these most recent comments have stirred in me...
I have often wondered what Yogi Bhajan would say about how Queer Culture fits into the Dharma. I appreciate your perspective, Suret Singh, about how you think that Yogiji would believe that the unity of souls and the work it takes to have a solid, joyous, committed lifetime partnership is the highest yoga, regardless of the gender of the partners. I agree. I believe that perhaps he didn't have the opportunity to explore homophobia. Yogi Bhajan saw marriage as a union of practicality and graceful living. A discipline beyond any. Romantic love was not necessarily a priority, nor children a requirement. This goes beyond gender.
It brings me back to the question someone recently asked about why we need a relationship anyway. I believe some people don't. Is it for sexual gratification? Some folks find companionship in God, Earth, Sky and the wind and all the creatures. I would like to find a partner to praise God with, to lean on and to call home. To lean in to my partner's chest and hear the steady beat of a living heart. To be grounded with that rhythm here on Earth. This is why I want a partner. To honor and be honored as a temple of the spirit and a great infinite being. To call the sound of his heart my home instead of a place and things. And why another person, why is the sound of my own heartbeat not enough? It is. But it isn't. You know?
We are not here to judge eachother. This is not why we are here. Inside us is wholeness, Oneness, God. God has no gender. Then how can there be male and female aspects inside us? This is a gender label. I believe all these aspects are the true wholeness of each human being. Yes some characteristics of human behavior tend to be gender specific, but if you look closely, you will see that there is an exception to each one. This is all God's creation. Actually we are all God. The diversity of our planet is how we thrive. How overwhelming it can feel right now on the edge of the Aquarian Age. How wonderful. We are an amazing global culture.
Let us keep up and be kept up.
Love to all,
Sat Akal

Sat Nam Suret Singh,
Interesting point you bring us. I believed that It is important that any person can develop and joined the male and female aspect inside. When we do that the star in us is complete. This aspect goes beyond the heterosexual or bysexual relations, so theres a lot to do too.

Sat nam Sohan Kaur! Thank you for this and as a practicioner of ky what yogi Bhajan said is of course taken as invaluable even though I am gay. I like to think that he would have thought the same about same sex couples though was perhaps hindered by cultural and generational bias. It is encouraging though that ky and the sikh community is welcoming of nonheterosexual expressions of sexuality. Blessings, suret singh

Sat nam to all.
Here some wisdom from Yogi Ji to inspired us: "Male and Female make a union and this complete union is the greatest yoga"
See you at Summer Solstice!

Sat Nam,
Here just now and sorry to say that I will not be at SS - hoping to come to WS tho. I know that the single's event at WS was a success and that many want it to continue but I have not been contacted by SS coordinators and I did not contact them re: said event. One way to connect could be here - who will be at SS?? and a time to meet there ad lib. There are 30 members now and that may grow if the word gets out. There is so much E at SS that surely it would work out!
